

Upon asking him what he desired, Sweet Tooth shocked the world by announcing he wanted to take the reigns of the Twisted Metal tournament! What was Calypso to do? As part of the bargain, he had to grant the victor's wish reluctantly, he handed the tournament over to Sweet Tooth. The ambitious boy turned circus clown stood before Calypso. If he were to win the tournament, the demented creator would have his dreams realized!

He yearned for his name in the spotlight not only did he lust for fame and fortune, he wanted to be on top! What exactly he was craving for was unknown, but he knew that Calypso's Twisted Metal tournament was the answer to everything. There is a code that will "force" City of the Dead to be the only playable battleground, whether it be in Twisted Metal: Lost or Twisted Metal: Head-On.Sweet Tooth was an ambitious child. It was the only level that contained a machine gun upgrade pickup, plus the ability to drive on the broken freeways but with invisible barriers keeping the player inside the map. The fifth level is known as City of the Dead and is unplayable due to some textures unapplied, some interactive elements unstable, and the spawning points not being one for each vehicle. There were actually five levels planned, but only four of them are playable.(Images for these highways can be found in the gallery.) It's not completely clear if these are the exact highways the player could have taken. In some of the levels in Lost, there actually are highways featured in them.Making the game as one whole for the player to explore. The game was originally planned to have a connected world via a highway system.The locations are similar to a few levels in Black, but they may be the same area.Defeated combatants no longer scream and run ablaze when eliminated.Because the atmosphere remained unchanged from Black, it seemed that the story was also to be set within Sweet Tooth's imagination.The music themes that play in each level are actually the themes from Twisted Metal Black slightly sped up.The original name for Twisted Metal: Lost was Twisted Metal: Harbor City.Topdown panoramic map of the "Ghetto" level from Harbor City's Prototype. This build is not publicly available and only runs on a TOOL dev kit. It shows a level, City of the Dead (which a different version is in Lost, but requires hacking to play), being played with a blue and white skin for 12-Pak and a few vehicles from Head On and Black, can be seen in combat. In late 2020, a video of a much later version of Harbor City was released online, build number and date are unknown. The download contains loose files of the build and a rebuilt ISO, which the ISO is all that's required to play. This build can be downloaded for free and played on a emulator. They are airport, ghetto, goth, dock, railyard and scenter. The levels are titled by names that would have most likely have changed for the final game. It included 5 levels that were not included in Lost nor reused in any other game.
